Privacy Policy for OmniMeter

Last updated: July 17, 2026

OmniMeter ("the app") is developed and maintained by the app's developer ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is used.

Summary

OmniMeter is an offline sensor toolkit. All sensor readings — sound level, tilt, magnetic field, compass bearing, WiFi signal strength, and barometric pressure — are calculated entirely on your device. We do not operate a server, we do not show ads, and the app does not transmit your sensor readings, location, or audio anywhere.

Permissions we request, and why

PermissionUsed forWhat happens to the data
Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO) Decibel Meter — measures ambient sound level Audio is analyzed in real time on-device to compute a decibel reading. It is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION) WiFi Signal tool — Android requires this permission before any app can read WiFi signal strength (RSSI) or network name, even though the app does not use GPS or track your location Your location is not read, stored, or transmitted. This permission exists solely because of an Android OS restriction on WiFi APIs.
WiFi state (ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) WiFi Signal tool Used to read the current network's signal strength and name on-device. Not transmitted anywhere.

Sensors that require no special permission — accelerometer, magnetometer, and barometer (used by Bubble Level, EMF Detector, Compass, and Barometer) — are also processed entirely on-device and never leave your phone.

OmniMeter does not currently use internet access, show ads, or include any third-party SDKs that collect data. If that changes in a future update (for example, adding advertising), this policy will be updated first and the "Last updated" date above will reflect it.

Data we do not collect

We do not require account creation, do not collect your name, email, or contact list, and do not store or transmit any sensor reading, audio, or location data to any server. There is no backend — everything runs locally on your device.

Children's privacy

OmniMeter is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
